As the coffee pod market shows signs of slowing growth, Keurig is turning to more premium products and hip brands like Intelligentsia to attract new customers.
Manola Soler, senior director with Alvarez & Marsal Consumer Retail Group, said the increase in premium coffee consumption at home accelerated during the pandemic as coffee lovers switched from cafes to home countertops. JDE Peet’s, which owns Intelligentsia, reported organic sales growth of 6.1% in fiscal year 2021.
