In response to rising labor costs, A&M CRG was engaged to drive labor spend reduction and standardize in-store operations across the client’s store network.
In partnership with client leadership, A&M designed a store operations modernization program to drive $XM run rate savings. CRG’s program focused on 3 pillars: standard operating procedures (SOPs), scheduling and store team structures.
SOPs were developed, tested and rolled out across all Fresh, Center Store and Non-product departments (e.g., pricing, ecommerce). Unnecessary activities were also identified and eliminated. Scheduling focused on allocating labor hours across the week and day in line with the needs of customers and the business. Finally, store team structures were adjusted to establish the right FT vs PT mix to unlock scheduling flexibility and optimize the labor budget.
