With a goal of growing revenue in unique way that would stretch beyond their core business, this retailer engaged A&M CRG to help brainstorm and develop growth strategy business cases to present to their Board of Directors and to inform their 2022+ strategy.
A&M partnered with the client’s executive leadership team to brainstorm 50+ growth opportunities for the client. Opportunities spanned from new store formats to acquisition and brand incubation to new DTC selling platforms. Following the exercise, A&M developed a framework to evaluate the opportunities based on revenue potential, right to win, and anticipated valuation impact, shortlisting opportunities accordingly. The team then developed business cases for 10 opportunities, including anticipated revenue, costs, operating margin and an executional risk assessment. This ultimately led to the prioritization of 5 growth vectors, for which full business cases and pilot plans were developed, outlining a size of prize of $2Bn in incremental revenue and $200M in incremental operating margin over 5 years.
